Nannerl Mozart. A prodigy herself and five years Wolfgang Mozart's elder, her musical prowess was undeniable. full of passion, courage, and most importantly: music, she headlined Europe. Though Nannerl was ordered to cease touring at 18, her journey as a musician, teacher, and composer was only beginning.
Mia Ruhman wrote Nannerl during her first 3 years at UCLA. She has the honor to premiere this piece as her capstone recital and looks forward to orchestrating Nannerl next year.
An avid performer and director, Matthew Deegan was the director and co-creator of “Distopia” and performs regularly throughout Los Angeles.
In the UCLA graduating class of 2025, Vasili Magaziotis is an up-and-coming conductor while partaking in the Music Performance program. Though with a preference for opera, he has conducted many musical works such as Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and assistant musical director for the UCLA theater company’s production of Into the Woods. The process of stitching the music together drives his passion for music and strives to spread the power of music to everyone.
Miloš Veljković, a recognized pianist based in the heart of Los Angeles, is known for his exceptional contributions to classical music and musical theatre. As a versatile chamber musician, Miloš collaborates as a pianist for renowned institutions including UCLA, AMDA, and USC. His artistry not only graces the halls of academia but also enriches the captivating productions of some of Los Angeles' contemporary operas.
In addition to his impressive collaborations, Miloš has had the privilege of working with esteemed composers such as Peter Healey, Peter Knell, and others, further enhancing the depth and diversity of his musical journey.
He started his first piano lesson with his mother, a music teacher, at the age of six. As a young talent, he won prizes such as the Festival of The Association of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia and the European Music Competition of Moncalieri (Italy).
Sydney Wang is a Los-Angeles based composer and pianist whose work in both areas draws upon her extensive experience as a collaborative performer. As a composer, Wang is experienced working in various different genres: classical, electronic, and film scoring, to name just a few.
Jackson Garland is enthused to be apart of the Nannerl team! Garland serves as the production designer and is determined to bring to life the classical period that Maria Anna Mozart lived in. Garland has experience designing and building sets for Palisades Charter High productions including Dangerous Corner, Oliver, and Little Women.

Ruhman was honored to play the lead role of Vera in the world premiere of Dis-Topia The Musical. A fourth year music composition undergraduate at UCLA, Ruhman studies composition with Professor Ian Krouse and classical voice with Professor Vladimir Chernov. Ruhman’s largest project to date is the completion of her original opera, Nannerl, to which she both composed the score and wrote the libretto. A piano vocal production of Nannerl will be mounted in 2025, consisting of 20 person cast- with Ruhman playing the role of “Nannerl”. Ruhman sang on the grammy award winning recording of Maherl’s 8th, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, and also sings as a soprano in UCLA Chamber Singers. Ruhman works for the National Children’s Chorus as a musicianship instructor and for the Palisades Methodist Church as soprano section leader. Most recently, Ruhman was selected to be the undergraduate commencement speaker at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music graduation ceremony.
Yani Araujo is an experienced soloist and ensemble artist hailing from Orlando, FL. He has sung in numerous performances around the Central Florida area with ensembles such as Solaria of Orlando Sings, the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, the Villages Philharmonic, and many more.

Yani Araujo is an experienced soloist and ensemble artist hailing from Orlando, FL. He has sung in numerous performances around the Central Florida area with ensembles such as Solaria of Orlando Sings, the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, the Villages Philharmonic, and many more.
A conductor who is equally at home in front of an orchestra or a choir, Yani has had the honor and pleasure of learning under the tutelage of several gifted teachers and mentors, such as James Bass, John Sinclair, Jamey Ray, and Kevin Harris. While pursuing his undergraduate degree at Rollins College, he conducted on several occasions the Rollins Choir and Orchestra, and led many recording sessions for publishers like Hal Leonard. He has also led the Choirs at the National Shrine of Mary Queen of the Universe, First United Methodist Church of Winter Park, and others.
Yani also enjoys feeding his soul as a recording artist, having offered backup vocals and voice over work for today’s talented independent artists and choral music publishers, as well as creating his own works. Yani is a composer and arranger, and has written music that has been published by Excelcia Music Publishing. In 2017, Yani edited, translated, and engraved a piece of music that had not been performed since its composition in the 18th century for the Moravian Music Foundation. This edition was chosen by the Foundation for publication and is now available for sale on the Foundation’s website.
Outside of western art music, Yani loves singing and listening to jazz, Brazilian music, and anything that grooves. He also loves rock climbing and connecting with nature, as well as playing and snuggling with his dog, Monkey. Yani holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rollins College, with a focus in vocal performance and conducting. He is currently pursuing the degree of Master of Music in Choral Conducting at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ross Chitwood, tenor, studied classical voice at Juilliard and has performed in numerous roles throughout the U.S. Chitwood currently works as the music director for the Community United Methodist Church of Pacific Palisades.
Abigail has been doing musical theater, flute performance, and art since a very young age. She graduated with her BA in music with an emphasis in flute from Chapman University where she also conducted, music directed, and co-composed the first stage production of Dis-topia (an original musical by Matthew Deegan, Robby Good and Abigail). Abigail has been doing musical theater, flute performance, and art since a very young age. She graduated with her BA in music with an emphasis in flute from Chapman University where she also conducted, music directed, and co-composed the first stage production of Dis-topia (an original musical by Matthew Deegan, Robby Good and Abigail). Abigail performed in said production (Tour Guide 2/Protest Leader) alongside Mia, and has starred in other productions like Into the Woods (Bakers Wife), Batboy (Chorus), and currently is performing and stage managing in Saw the Parody Musical (Amanda Swing). She also spends her time in the Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadow Cast in La Habra, playing flute in a blues band called The Hailers, and performing in theme parks (from Fright Fest Ghoul to stilt walking). In her free time, she likes to compose, bake, sculpt, craft, and hang out with her cat. Abigail is elated to work with Mia again, especially on such an intricate project. She has fallen in love with her composition, and cannot wait for the audience to go home with the same earworms she’s had for months.

Marsh in the upcoming musical Bone Wars at the Players Theatre NYC in Spring 2026. Yekaterina Lynch is a California-based soprano currently completing her undergraduate degree at UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music. She spent several years at San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Pre-College Program, and studied at the prestigious Odessa Conservatory in Ukraine. Having received both the Elaine Krown Klein and Mimi Alpert Feldman scholarships at UCLA, she covered the principal role of Maria in Richard Danielpour’s 2024 premiere of The Grand Hotel Tartarus. In 2023, she took on the role of Echo in Kay Rhie’s Quake premier, as well as Damon in Handel’s Acis and Galatea. Partial roles include Meg from Verdi’s Falstaff, Mère Marie from Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Rosalinda from Die Fledermaus. An avid new-music vocalist, Yekaterina most-recently performed Pierrot lunaire in full for Schoenberg’s 150th anniversary in Schoenberg Hall. In addition to opera, Yekaterina is currently the music director of Con Brio, one of UCLA’s student-led string orchestras, and the Associate Director of Opera UCLA’s spring production, Handel’s Rodrigo.
Sam Song is a tenor and a junior at UCLA, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Music. Since arriving at UCLA, he has performed in Acis and Galatea, Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Dido and Aeneas, and the world premiere of The Grand Hotel Tartarus. In addition to ensemble roles in The Rake’s Progress, L’elisir d’amore, Acis and Galatea, Quake, and The Grand Hotel Tartarus and appearances as Lacouf in Les mamelles de Tirésias, his engagements included his role debut as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and the roles of Bardolfo in Falstaff, Le Remendado in Carmen, Frantz in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and Chorus in Dialogues des Carmélites for programs of staged opera scenes. His involvement at the University of California, Los Angeles continues as a member of the UCLA Chamber Singers and the UCLA Gluck Voice and Piano Duo. Kevin is an alumnus of and former Part Leader for the All-American Boys Chorus and has been recognized for his talents in various local and national competitions, including the Vocal Vision Awards of 2024. Alongside his musical endeavors, Kevin is civically engaged as a Council Executive Assistant to City of Irvine Mayor Larry Agran.

Natalie Fishman is a soprano from Menlo Park, California in her first year at the University of California, Los Angeles studying Classical Vocal Performance in the Herb Alpert School of Music with Professor Michael Dean. In 2025, Fishman performed as a soloist and a part of the ensemble in Opera UCLA's winter production, a Kurt Weill Cabaret. From 2013 to 2024, Fishman performed and toured across the country as a part of iSing Silicon Valley's all-girls chorus. In the fall of 2023, Fishman worked with composer Shara Nova and premiered her new song cycle, Winter Hymns, as a featured soloist in collaboration with iSing Silicon Valley. Outside of singing, Fishman is pursuing Neuroscience as a secondary major in UCLA's School of Letters and Sciences. In the future, Fishman intends to research music's effect on the brain, particularly in patients with neurodegenerative disease.

With the UCLA Chamber Singers, Madison sang soprano in the vocal quartet for Lera Auerbach’s West Coast premiere of “Vessels of Light” in beautiful Royce Hall. In addition to her vocal work, Madison aspires to become a choral conductor at the K-12 and collegiate levels, hoping to inspire young artists to develop a passion for music, as she did, through music education.

Morgan Kelly Moss (M.A., PhD UCLA in-progress, B.M. Magna Cum Laude Temple University) is a composer, teacher, and pianist from Philadelphia, PA, currently based in Los Angeles. Morgan's music has a sound world that is described as neo-American with inspiration from nature, and always spirited with a twinge of optimism. She has worked with ensembles across the country such as the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Filarmonia Arturo Toscanini, the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Society of Dayton Ohio, and many more. She currently studies composition with GRAMMY Award-winning composer Richard Danielpour, and also studied piano with world-renowned pianist Sara Davis Buechner for many years.
Recently, Moss’s piano trio, “Storks,” was selected by SOLI Chamber Ensemble in a national call for scores to be presented in a series of performances starting in May, 2025, and will also be featured on their compilation live CD, which will be distributed in 2026. She has also been accorded “Emerging Composer” by Tribeca New Music Competition.
Very active in scoring music for film, Moss currently works in Los Angeles at Bear McCreary’s composing studio, Sparks and Shadows, and will have composing credits on the upcoming season of Starz’s Outlander.
Morgan plans to graduate with her PhD from UCLA in 2027, and continue to grow her career as a composer, film-scorer and teacher.

Mia Lomholt Tvede (DK) is an LA-based singer, actress and interdisciplinary artist from Denmark. She has a BA in Theater and Performance Studies from the University of Copenhagen. She is currently finishing her master’s degree as an exchange student at the UCLA Theater Major. She holds a private acting and performance education from Teaterhoejskolen Rodkilde and keeps developing her craft with private vocal, performance and movement classes. Mia has worked professionally as a singer since childhood with classical singing as a point of departure. At the same time, she’s received extensive training in pop/rock and jazz leading to several roles as a solo singer and performer in different performing arts productions as well as concerts in the traditional sense. Dramatized concerts are one of Mia’s specialties as they combine her love for strong musical and vocal performances with the powerful tools and interpretations that come from the performing arts. She has created and performed her own interdisciplinary show at The Theatre Zeppelin in Copenhagen.
